History of Boynton Beach
The City of Boynton Beach is the 3rd largest municipality in Palm Beach County. Named after Michigan native, Major Nathan Smith Boynton who came to the area in 1895. Boynton purchased oceanfront land and began building the Boynton hotel. The area expanded during this time as a farming community but has since evolved to high rises closer to the beach and single-family homes more inland.
